I’m a convert. I picked up a Wacom used a while back, because a friend of mine was getting rid of his. I picked it up knowing that Wacoms were everywhere. They’re one of those industry standards, but one that didn’t particularly appeal to me because I can’t draw my way out of a paper bag.
I was completely and totally wrong. Not about my drawing. About the Wacom. My Intuos 4 has been absolutely priceless. Whenever I’m removing dust, or cutting out something, or doing any sort of retouching at all, the Wacom is out. It’s normal place is actually under my keyboard, and then I just scoot my keyboard up, and scrawl away. I can’t recommend one of these enough. I don’t think you have to splurge on the newest, cutting edgiest Wacom, especially if you aren’t planning on drawing internet comics, but you should have one of these around to help you out.
